Our fourth graders have been busy working in their garden. After they cleaned the overgrown plants from the summer, Baylor and his dad built raised beds. On a recent Saturday, fourth graders and their parents shoveled 8 tons of dirt into the new beds. To plant the garden, the children calculated the area of each bed to determine how many plants could fit and how far apart the plants should be placed. Using their measurement skills, the children have now successfully planted the garden, and it looks fabulous!
