Sherry Bunn, PE/Health
Sherry Bunn graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Technology. She put her study of science to work in the pharmaceutical industry in sales and training, specializing in the pediatric markets. After a brief retirement, she served as a long-term substitute in both public and private schools. She joined the St. Luke team in 2008 where she teaches Health and Physical Education and serves as the Athletic Director.
Kimetha Eysel, K-3rd Music and Middle School Singers
Kimetha Eysel is a graduate of Columbus State University with a degree in Vocal Performance. Mrs. Eysel loves teaching and is thrilled to share her love of music with over 300 students who pass through her classroom doors each week. Mrs. Eysel directs the St. Luke Singers middle school chorus and the annual Spring Musical. The musical performances are always the highlight of her year. In her free time, Mrs. Eysel, loves to sing, read, and spend time with her family.
Jen Grantham, STEAM
Jen Grantham is a graduate of Mercer University in Macon where she received her degree in education. She went on to earn her master’s degree in education from Columbus State University. Mrs. Grantham taught in the public school system for several years. She believes that every student has the ability to learn and with help can overcome even the worst of situations. Mrs. Grantham was thrilled to join the St. Luke School staff in the fall of 2006, as a kindergarten teacher. She now oversees out STEAM Lab and enjoys watching our students work together in the Lab. “I love working in the family-like atmosphere where I can share the word of God and his blessings with my students.”
Hillary Green, Art, Consumer Science and Yearbook
Hillary Green is a graduate of Columbus State University where she received a degree in communications. She is a busy mother of three and enjoys singing and painting. Mrs. Green has been on staff at St. Luke School since 2008. She has worked as a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant, Assistant P.E. Teacher, and as the Middle School Receptionist.
Sandy LeRoy, Spanish
Mrs. LeRoy has a Foreign Language Trade Degree from Auburn University in Spanish. She has made St. Luke her school home since 2003. She grew up in both the United States and Lima, Peru, which accounts for her fluency in both English and Spanish. Her experiences allow her to bring a unique perspective to her classes.
Brett Maddocks, Introduction to World Religions
Rev. Brett Maddocks is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a BA in Philosophy and a minor in Religious Studies. He is also a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity. He is also working on his Doctor of Ministry at Asbury. Brett is an Associate Pastor and Minister of Discipleship at St. Luke United Methodist Church and Chaplain of St. Luke School. He is married to his college sweetheart, Jessica, and has two boys at St. Luke School, Eli and Jack.
Jessica McCullars, 3rd-5th Grade Spanish
Jessica is a graduate of Auburn University where she received a BA in Spanish-International Trade, as well as a Master’s in Hispanic Studies. She has lived in Spain twice and has been teaching (high school and college) since 2006. She is the owner of a translation and interpreting business here in Columbus, but especially loves the days she gets to be on our campus teaching Spanish. She joined the St. Luke family in 2016 as a parent and as a Spanish teacher for 3rd-5th grades.
Amber McDuffie, Music and Drama/Speech
Amber McDuffie is a graduate of Berry College, where she received her degree in Music and Marketing. While attending Berry she had the opportunity to perform onstage in 11 productions and was a member of Berry’s Improv troupe. She has a passion for the Fine Arts and feels very blessed to be a part of St. Luke School. Mrs. McDuffie teaches Dramatic Play to the Kindergarten classes, 4th-5th grade Music, 5th grade Drama, 6th grade Speech and 7th-8th grade Drama.
David McLeod, PE Teacher
David McLeod attended Brockport State University in Rochester, NY, where he obtained both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Physical Education. He was also a collegiate wrestler during his undergraduate studies. During his graduate studies, Mr. McLeod was an assistant wrestling coah at Brockport State. Mr. McLeod has also coached basketball, baseball, softball and football. After his graduate studies, Mr. McLeod became an Elementary PE teacher and Athletic Director for the Diocese of Syracuse in Syracuse, NY. He loves football, wrestling, golf and spending time with his family. Mr. McLeod moved to Columbus in the summer of 2013 and is excited about his opportunity to teach and coach at St. Luke School!
Jamie Milner, PE Teacher Assistant
Jamie Milner graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Her life experiences have given her a passion for health. She is excited about the blessing of passing that passion on to the students at St. Luke School. She enjoys road trips, spending time with her husband, outdoor activities, and reading.
Andrea Olenick, Art Teacher
Andrea Olenick received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design. She earned her Certification in Art Education K-12 from Southern Connecticut State University. Mrs. Olenick has taught at elementary, middle and high schools in Connecticut. She is mom to four boys: Harlan, Wyatt, Tobias – who are St. Luke Lions – and Zeke. She loves historic houses, summers in Maine and drinking hot tea.
Jennifer Oliver, Geometry Elective
Jennifer Oliver is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned a bachelor’s degree, of Troy State where she earned a master’s degree, and of Columbus State University where she earned a specialist degree in middle school education. She has also earned gifted endorsement from Columbus State University. Mrs. Oliver taught in the Muscogee County School District for over 10 years and was awarded the Teacher of the Year of Double Churches Middle School in 2004. She has been a part of the St. Luke Middle School staff since 2004 and accepted the role as Assistant Principal of St. Luke School in 2011. Mrs. Oliver’s husband is a Chemistry teacher at Columbus High School. She has two boys, one a student at Columbus High School and one attending the University of Georgia.
Bill Shelnutt, Military History of the 20th Century
Bill holds a B. A. in History from State University of New York, Buffalo. He earned a Masters degree in Middle Grades Education from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, an Educational Leadership Certificate from Georgia State University, and an MBA from Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. Bill has over twenty years experience in education including eight years as Head of the Preparatory School at Mount Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek, Georgia. He also held positions as Assistant Headmaster at Brandon Hall School and Dean of Students at Holy Spirit Preparatory Schools, both in Atlanta, GA. Bill comes to St. Luke after serving as Head of School at Wildwood Christian Academy in Marble Hill, Georgia. Bill is a sought after presenter at the annual ISM summer institute. Bill and his wife Susan are parents to twins Annie and Will, two of our newest St. Luke Lions.
