Ann Allen, Eighth Grade Language Arts
Ann Allen is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Georgia State University in Atlanta. She earned her teaching certificate through Columbus State University. She likes to find the perfect book for each student and loves it when she can surprise her students. She has been teaching at St. Luke since 2007. Before becoming a teacher, Ms. Allen worked in Human Resources and Labor Relations on both the business and consulting sides.
Mike Peacock, Eighth Grade Physical Science
Mike Peacock joined the St. Luke School staff in 2018-2019. He has worked in the education profession for 23 years, with seven of those in a science classroom. He is a graduate of the University of West Alabama and has worked as a teacher and coach in Alabama. He also spent 16 years at Columbus State University working in the school’s athletic department. He and his wife Dana have been married for 28 years and have two sons, Brooks (21) and Bryn (14). Outside of school, he enjoys Auburn University sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family.
Steven Swinehart, Eighth Grade Math
Steven Swinehart received his BS in Mathematics from the University of Georgia. After graduation, he worked at Synovus for 13 years before moving to Key Bank for two years. Mr. Swinehart recently graduated from Columbus State University where he earned a Masters in Art of Teaching. He has been teaching at St. Luke School since 2010. Mr. Swinehart enjoys serving as St. Luke School’s WyldLife leader and swim team sponsor. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family.
Brandi Waldheim, Eighth Grade Georgia History
Brandi Waldheim has been a classroom teacher for over eight years. She is a graduate of Columbus State University and received her teaching degree in 2007. Mrs. Waldheim has been working on obtaining her Masters in Teaching through Columbus State online. She joined the St. Luke School staff in 2016. Mrs. Waldheim leads our eighth graders through the National History Day project each year to help them build their research skills and prepare them for the next step in their learning. She is married and has two daughters. She loves Mercer Football, baking, and anything Disney.
