Melissa Hatala, Seventh Grade Math
Melissa Hatala began her professional career not with books and blackboards, but with computers and peripheral devices. After graduating from the University of Dayton, she spent 25 years in the corporate environment as a sales representative for the Hewlett-Packard Company and a consultant for Applied Planning International, a leadership consulting firm. Mrs. Hatala is certified to teach mathematics in grades 6-12 in Ohio and Georgia. In addition to having a passion for math, Melissa is an avid runner and has completed seven marathons during her running career.
Patti Landreau, Seventh Grade Language Arts
A native of Louisiana, Mrs. Landreau has lived in Phenix City since 2008. During that time, she has taught in the Phenix City School System in 6th, 8th and 9th grades. She and her husband Matt have been married for 19 years and have two wonderful children: Cydney, who is in 10th grade, and Jackson, who is an SLS “senior.” She is a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and is involved in Family Theatre productions. Mrs. Landreau joined the St. Luke School staff in 2015, and is thrilled to be here!
Kim Padgett, Seventh Grade Social Studies
Mrs. Padgett began her career in higher education, having worked at Columbus State University for 14 years. After having children, she decided to make a career change and returned to school to finish her teacher certification. She is highly qualified to teach both Social Studies and Language Arts. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Communication, Masters Degree in Pubilc Administration, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching, all from CSU. She taught seventh and eighth grade Social Studies at Flint River Academy for three years prior to joining the St. Luke School staff. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and is an active member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Paula Watkins, Seventh Grade Science
Paula Watkins earned a Bachelor’s of Art in Middle School Education from Columbus State University. Mrs. Watkins has taught fourth grade and seventh grade Life Science. She taught sixth grade Earth Science from 2007 through 2014. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Watkins enjoys playing tennis, reading, and spending time with her family.
