Athletic Award Criteria |
| The St. Luke School Athletic Department has modified the recognition and reward students receive for their efforts and successes to further promote the St. Luke School Mission Statement. Student athletes remain students first and athletes second. To participate in any sport at St. Luke School students must maintain C’s or better in all academic classes and S’s in conduct and attendance. Please review the Co-Curricular Participation Requirements for more information.
Participation Certificates and Awards All student athletes will receive participation certificates at the annual sports banquet. Students in the 8th grade will receive a plaque to chronicle their entire sports participation history. All participants are eligible for other sport-specific awards, for example, Most Valuable, Most Improved, Most Spirited, Most Hustle, Best Offensive Player, Best Defensive Player, Team Leadership, Scholar Athletes and others at the coach’s discretion.
Pins Athletes will be eligible to receive an athletic participation pin for each sport played. Awarding of pins is subject to the following criteria which are required for all sports: · Have earned an academic letter (or an athletic letter prior to 2009-2010 school year) · Have no academic grade lower than “C” on a Nine-Week Report Card · Have no conduct grade or attendance grade lower than “S” on a Nine-Week Report Card · Attend 90% or better of practices, games, matches, and/or meets · All unexcused absences must be pre-approved by the Coach, Athletic Director, and /or Headmaster · Exhibit sportsmanship at all practices, games, races and/or events · Be in uniform with all equipment for all practices, games, matches, and/or meets |
