All rising sixth graders are required to read Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly and a second book chosen by the student for which he or she previously registered online. Students are required to submit an online assessment upon completion of each book. A link to the assessment may be found below. Assessments for both books should be submitted by Monday, August 13th. These books will be used during the school year as they support our writing curriculum. Please hang on to the books and send them to school with your child on the first day. If you have any questions, please email Miss Plott (sixth grade Language Arts teacher) at email@example.com.
Summer Math Packet
In preparation for a successful year in middle school math, please complete the problems included in your summer math packet. The objectives in the packet should have been mastered in the grade level you just completed, and they represent skills essential for success at the next grade level. We encourage you to work each problem thoroughly and practice skills where there are gaps in fundamental concepts.
The rising sixth grade math packet will be available in ParentsWeb beginning May 24th. (Go to ParentsWeb | School Information | Resource Documents.) Be sure to complete the packet for the grade level you will be entering in the fall and carefully follow all directions stated in the packet. The summer math review packet must be turned in to your math teacher when you visit campus on Monday, August 13th.
Should you have any questions regarding your math packet, please email Ms. Gaffney (sixth grade Math teacher) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
