Georgia Media Festival

The annual Georgia Student Media Festival celebrates outstanding student produced media projects in grades K-12.  The purpose of the festival is to stimulate interest and involvement in all types of media production for students.  Festival activities progress through three successive levels: local, school system/district, and state.  St. Luke School recently selected five student produced media projects to submit to the district level for evaluation.  All were produced by second grade students, and can be viewed at the following links:

Tornadoes by Elaine

Animal Habitats by Ella

Sewing Project by Mikhaila

Vertebrates by Molly

Mikhaila’s Sewing Project video was evaluated in the Live Action category, while all other videos were evaluated in the Sequential Stills category.  All of the student projects did very well at the district level, and four of them received a score of “superior” (Frederick Douglass, Animal Habitats, Sewing Project, and Vertebrates).  Those four projects are advancing to the state level competition, and will be evaluated on May 1st at the Clayton County Schools Professional Learning Center. We’re so proud of the work produced by these five second graders, and can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
