Sherry Bunn, PE/Health
Sherry Bunn graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Technology. She put her study of science to work in the pharmaceutical industry in sales and training, specializing in the pediatric markets. After a brief retirement, she served as a long-term substitute in both public and private schools. She joined the St. Luke team in 2008 where she teaches Health and Physical Education and serves as the Athletic Director. .
Kimetha Eysel, Jr-K – 6th Music and Middle School Singers
Kimetha Eysel is a graduate of Columbus State University with a degree in Vocal Performance. Mrs. Eysel loves teaching and is thrilled to share her love of music with over 300 students who pass through her classroom doors each week. Mrs. Eysel directs the St. Luke Singers middle school chorus and the annual Spring Musical. The musical performances are always the highlight of her year. In her free time, Mrs. Eysel, loves to sing, read, and spend time with her family. .
Jen Grantham, Jr-K – 4th STEAM
Jen Grantham is a graduate of Mercer University in Macon where she received her degree in education. She went on to earn her master’s degree in education from Columbus State University. Mrs. Grantham taught in the public school system for several years. She believes that every student has the ability to learn and with help can overcome even the worst of situations. Mrs. Grantham was thrilled to join the St. Luke School staff in the fall of 2006, as a kindergarten teacher. She now oversees our STEAM Lab and enjoys watching our students work together in the Lab. “I love working in the family-like atmosphere where I can share the word of God and his blessings with my students.”
Hillary Green, Jr-K – 2nd Art, Jr-K Dramatic Play, 7th/8th Graphic Design, and Consumer Science
Hillary Green is a graduate of Columbus State University where she received a degree in communications. She is a busy mother of three and enjoys singing and painting. Mrs. Green has been on staff at St. Luke School since 2008. She has worked as a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant, Assistant P.E. Teacher, and as the Middle School Receptionist.
Sandy LeRoy, Spanish
Mrs. LeRoy has a Foreign Language Trade Degree from Auburn University in Spanish. She has made St. Luke her school home since 2003. She grew up in both the United States and Lima, Peru, which accounts for her fluency in both English and Spanish. Her experiences allow her to bring a unique perspective to her classes. .
David McLeod, PE Teacher
David McLeod attended Brockport State University in Rochester, NY, where he obtained both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Physical Education. He was also a collegiate wrestler during his undergraduate studies. During his graduate studies, Mr. McLeod was an assistant wrestling coach at Brockport State. Mr. McLeod has also coached basketball, baseball, softball and football. After his graduate studies, Mr. McLeod became an Elementary PE teacher and Athletic Director for the Diocese of Syracuse in Syracuse, NY. He loves football, wrestling, golf and spending time with his family. Mr. McLeod moved to Columbus in the summer of 2013 and is excited about his opportunity to teach and coach at St. Luke School!
Andrea Olenick, 3rd – 8th Art Teacher
Andrea Olenick received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design. She earned her Certification in Art Education K-12 from Southern Connecticut State University. Mrs. Olenick has taught at elementary, middle and high schools in Connecticut. She is mom to four boys: Harlan, Wyatt, Tobias, and Zeke. She loves historic houses, summers in Maine and drinking hot tea. .
Jennifer Oliver, 8th Math Elective
Jennifer Oliver is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned a bachelor’s degree, of Troy State where she earned a master’s degree, and of Columbus State University where she earned a specialist degree in middle school education. She has also earned gifted endorsement from Columbus State University. Mrs. Oliver taught in the Muscogee County School District for over 10 years and was awarded the Teacher of the Year of Double Churches Middle School in 2004. She has been a part of the St. Luke Middle School staff since 2004 and accepted the role as Assistant Principal of St. Luke School in 2011. Currently, she serves as Assistant Head of School, Middle School Principal, and teaches the 8th grade Math Elective. She has two sons and a daughter in law.
Angela Hutchens, Broadcast Elective
Angela Hutchens, a parent of two SLS Alumni who were “lifers,” received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College and State University and began teaching in 1997. After teaching in the public school setting for four years, she took seven years and stayed at home with her young children. When her youngest started kindergarten in 2008, she joined the St. Luke School faculty as a first grade teacher. Currently, she enjoys sharing her love of reading with the students of St. Luke School in the media center. She especially embraces the many servant leadership opportunities that St. Luke offers and has been very active organizing these activities as part of the Servant Leadership team.
