Sherry Bunn, Athletic Director
Sherry Bunn graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Technology. She put her study of science to work in the pharmaceutical industry in sales and training, specializing in the pediatric markets. After a brief retirement, she served as a long-term substitute in both public and private schools. She joined the St. Luke team in 2008 where she teaches Health and Physical Education and serves as the Athletic Director.
Kim Carroll, Middle School Receptionist
Kim Carroll attended Columbus State University where she studied Political Science. She began her career as a paralegal. After starting a family, she began working in the education field. Mrs. Carroll was a preschool teacher at Wynnton for ten years before moving to St. Luke School where she has been a first grade teacher’s assistant since 2006 and is now the Middle School Receptionist. In her free time, Mrs. Carroll enjoys reading and traveling. .
Brooke Green, Registrar
Brooke, a parent of two SLS Lion Alumni, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Family and Consumer Science. Brooke has devoted 20+ years to the role of supportive spouse to her husband Shane in his assignments as a minister of the United Methodist Church South Georgia Conference. She gained experience through corporate training and banking before starting a family and becoming a stay at home mom. She joined the SLS team in December of 2010 as a first grade teaching assistant. She later became our school secretary, a role she held since August of 2013 until taking on the role of the school registrar September of 2019.
Angela Hutchens, Media Specialist
Angela Hutchens, a parent of two SLS Alumni who were “lifers,” received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College and State University and began teaching in 1997. After teaching in the public school setting for four years, she took seven years and stayed at home with her young children. When her youngest started kindergarten in 2008, she joined the St. Luke School faculty as a first grade teacher. Currently, she enjoys sharing her love of reading with the students of St. Luke School in the media center. She especially embraces the many servant leadership opportunities that St. Luke offers and has been very active organizing these activities as part of the Servant Leadership team.
Denise Killough, Counselor/Director of Student Services
Denise Killough has been working with St. Luke children and families since 2008. Prior to coming to St. Luke School, she worked as a part-time counselor in the public school system. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology and School Counseling from Columbus State University. She is a Nationally Board Certified Counselor and a member of the Georgia School Counselors Association and American.
Stephanie Alford, Interim Advancement Director In September 2019, St. Luke School was excited for Stephanie Alford, our former Communications Director, to return to our family. Prior to joining the SLS team, Stephanie spent fifteen years at Synovus Financial Corp. where she served as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer and was responsible for leading the Human Resources, Recruiting, Corporate Communications, Training & Development, Security, Facilities Management and more for the Synovus family of companies. During her tenure, Synovus was named the Best Place to Work in America by Fortune Magazine. In addition to other community leadership roles, Stephanie served for eight years as a St. Luke School trustee.
Brett Maddocks, School Chaplain
Rev. Brett Maddocks is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a BA in Philosophy and a minor in Religious Studies. He is also a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity. He is also working on his Doctor of Ministry at Asbury. Brett is an Associate Pastor and Minister of Discipleship at St. Luke United Methodist Church and Chaplain of St. Luke School. He is married to his college sweetheart, Jessica, and has two boys at St. Luke School, Eli and Jack.
